What would you do?

The past 12 months have been filled with A LOT of challenges. So many, that I'm hoping we've had our fill for the next 12 years-it works that way right? In any case, because of all these challenges, it makes Dave and I even MORE excited than ever to start this next phase in our lives of heading off to medical school. It represents a lot to us, a lot of challenges that we have overcome to get to where we are going. We're extremely excited. And here is the first step towards this next phase in our lives...

For those of you who don't know, Dave was sworn into the Army as a 2nd Lieutenant. This will enable us to attend and complete medical school debt free. Dave is extremely excited about this as he has always wanted to join the army. And I'm excited because you all know how much I love to save money! But here's the question for you all...Dave has to go to Texas for Officer Training Camp for 45 days (from June to July). It appears that he will have NO day offs. They put him up in a hotel and he gets a generous daily allowance for food. So, the boys and I could go with him. It would be hard to be apart for 45 days. It would also be hard to be stuck in a hotel room by myself with two little boys all day, every day (except for the evenings). So, what would you do?

45 days would be a long time to be apart, so I would go and get a pass to a local pool and find some other things like that to do (libraries, children's museums) so that you could get out somewhere once or twice a day......Or you could not go and come to California and stay with us instead!

california is definitely tempting...we can have one bedroom and you guys can have the other one (it wouldn't be that big of a deal if we were living with you while you had your baby, right?!)

Hi Kate! I would probably go with him to Texas. Don't you have family there? You could go visit the fam, explore the city that you'll be in, and there's always the public libraries and the mall, and parks. I think either way it'll be hard, but for me it would be harder to be apart for 45 days. Its a tough call. Good luck with the decision! ( I know how great you are at making them :)) And btw, the first part of June would be just fine. No problema chica!

Hard one! Just go that way Dave wont be lonely when he comes home at night and it will just be like a working husband anyway! 8-5 all the time and not home till dinner! Its not like you'll see him that much in Medical school either and you wouldnt not concider going with him to that !

We want you guys to come to dinner soon! love you!

That sounded kinda harsh :) didnt mean it to! You know what I mean I understand it would be hard cause its not like you can clean the hotel room, or all the things you would do at home...(hey some time to do what you want without having to worry about the daily drag in life!!!) Go for it! Like your sisters said go out and do some things around town!! Swimming sounds nice a cool!
